“Life After Death” : Ending the Old Life and Taking Control of the New One

I recorded my new single, “Life After Death,” this week, but the meaning behind the record has been developing for years.

When people hear the phrase “life after death,” they usually think about what happens when our physical lives are over. For me, it represents something different. Sometimes, when life goes bad or a chapter no longer serves you, you have to let your old life end so a new one can begin.

In my previous life as a member of a group, there were countless attempts to take our music to the next level. We worked with managers, pursued record deals, attended meetings, and believed certain opportunities would finally become our breakthrough. Unfortunately, things never worked out the way we hoped.

There isn’t one person to blame. Sometimes the timing isn’t right, the situation isn’t right, or the people involved simply have different visions. However, deep down, I always knew that I wanted to be in control of my own destiny.

That realization became the foundation for the next chapter of my career.

“Life After Death” is about having the courage to bury an old version of yourself—the disappointment, the failed opportunities, the dependence on other people’s approval—and start again with a clearer vision. It’s about understanding that an ending doesn’t always represent failure. Sometimes an ending is the very thing that gives you your freedom.

This record is also the first single and B-side from my upcoming project, Bigger Than Me. Instead of depending entirely on streaming platforms and allowing companies to take a significant portion of the value generated by my music, I’m choosing to sell this release directly to my supporters for $2.99.
